Detectives investigating assaults at a park in Neston are appealing for information and footage from members of the public.

At around 8.40pm on Saturday 8 June police were called to a report of a disturbance involving a group of youths at Stanney Fields play area off Hinderton Road.

Officers attended the scene and discovered that two teenagers – an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl – had suffered minor head injuries.

The man was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

The girl did not require medical attention.

Two 16-year-old boys from Wirral have been arrested in relation to the incident. They have both been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone who witnessed what happened, or has any other information that may aid their investigation, to come forward.

They also want to hear from anyone who believes they may have CCTV or dashcam footage that may be relevant to the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Damian Tierney said: “Thankfully the 18-year-old man and the 17-year-old girl only suffered minor injuries.

“The consequences of the incident could have been far worse and I would like to reassure the public that we are determined to establish the full circumstances of what took place.
