Appeal following large scale disturbance outside Congleton pub Date published: 12th July 2019 1.42pm

Detectives investigating a large scale disturbance outside a Congleton pub are appealing for information and footage from members of the public.

The incident involving a large group of people occurred at around 7.30pm on Sunday 7 July.

It began outside the Ye Olde Kings Arms on High Street and continued onto Kinsey Street.

A 53-year-old man from Congleton sustained a serious leg injury as a result of the incident.

He was taken to hospital via an ambulance and has since been discharged after receiving treatment.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives are urging anyone who was in the area and witnessed any part of the altercation to come forward.

They also want to speak to anyone who has any mobile phone or dashcam footage regarding the incident.

Detective Constable Hasan Hasircioglu said: “A man suffered a serious injury that required hospital treatment as a result of the large scale altercation.

“We are determined to establish exactly what happened outside the Ye Olde Kings Arms on the night of Sunday 7 July and who was responsible and we want to hear from anyone who can help us with this.

“Perhaps you were in the area and witnessed what happened, or maybe you have mobile phone or dashcam footage concerning what took place.

“We also want to speak to anyone with information regarding those who were involved in the altercation.
