Man charged after potential lethal drugs stolen from Macclesfield hospital Date published: 15th August 2019 1.52pm

A 42-year-old man has been charged after potentially lethal drugs were stolen from a hospital in Macclesfield.

Stephen Hague was arrested at his home in Habour Farm Road, Hyde, near Stockport, at around 5.40pm yesterday, Friday 16 August.

He has subsequently been charged with burglary.

Hague has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on Monday 19 August.

The charge relates to an incident at Macclesfield District General Hospital around 8.30pm on Tuesday 13 August.

The majority of the controlled drugs that were stolen from a theatre area have since been recovered.

However some of the drugs, which are only safe in the hands of qualified medical personnel, have yet to be located.

Even when taken in small doses the drugs can be potentially lethal.

Anyone in possession of any of the stolen drugs is urged to hand them into their local police station.
