Detectives investigating an overnight burglary in Ellesmere Port are appealing for information and footage from members of the public.
Between 11pm on Sunday 7 July and 7am yesterday, Monday 8 July, an attached garage on Overpool Road was broken into as the owners slept inside the house.
A black Honda CB 1000 motorbike and a quantity of power tools were then stolen from the garage.
Enquiries in relation to the burglary are ongoing and detectives, who have released a photograph of the distinctive stolen bike, are urging anyone with any information or footage that may help the investigation to get in touch.
Detective Constable Iain Ross, of Ellesmere Port Local Policing Unit, said: “Burglary is a serious offence in which the victims are targeted in their own home, which is the place they should be able to feel most safe.
“Being the victim of a burglary is always a deeply upsetting experience . In this instance the victims were at home when the incident occurred, making it even more traumatic.
“We are determined to establish who broke into their attached garage, bring them to justice and have the stolen motorbike and power tools returned to their rightful owners.
“Enquiries are ongoing and as part of our investigation we are appealing for anyone who was in the Overpool Road area on the night of the burglary and witnessed anything suspicious to contact the team here at Ellesmere Port Police Station.
“We also want to speak to anyone who believes that they may know who broke into the garage, or have CCTV or dashcam footage of them.
“The same goes for anyone who thinks that they have seen the distinctive Honda motorbike since it was stolen or may know where it is.”
Anyone with information or CCTV footage that may be relevant to the investigation should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 449869, give the details via https://cheshire.police.uk/contact/general-enquiries or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
