An Xperience not to be missed… Date published: 25th July 2017 1.58pm

The summer holidays are now upon us, meaning that the final countdown has now begun for Runcorn’s very own party in the park.

The Phoenix Park Xperience is a new event organised by PC Zoe Bowden and PC Suzi Williams.

The aim of this event, which will be taking place at Phoenix Park on Friday 4th August from 11am-3pm, is to showcase what activities and facilities are open to families and young people in the Runcorn area, and encourage them to get involved and try something new.

PC Zoe Bowden said: “The summer holidays can sometimes be an expensive time for parents and it’s often difficult to keep the kids entertained, which is where PPX can help. With activities ranging from cheerleading to cycling you can be sure that there will be something to keep your children active without adding an extra burden to your wallet.

“In addition to entertaining the kids, the events also provide a great opportunity to meet with your local officers and PCSOs and discuss any issues and concerns that you may have.”

PC Suzi Williams said: "PPX is a new concept and we hope that by running it we can provide families and young people with just some ideas on how they can get involved in activities in their local community, whilst having fun at the same time.

“All of the activities are free of charge and open to children of all ages and abilities. We’ll have a huge range of attractions including Rampworx Skate Park, Spartans American football and Widnes Vikings along with local boxing and cheerleading clubs’.

“We’ll also have a number of activities aimed at younger people, with free face painting, birds of prey and a children’s fairground."

In addition to all of the attractions and activities there will also be a number of displays from partner agencies, including Liverpool Housing Trust, the Army, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and Halton Sports Development.
