On Wednesday 22nd July, Cheshire Police held an awards evening which recognised the unsung heroes - officers, staff and volunteers - throughout the organisation who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. These Achieving Cheshire Excellence (ACE) Awards were the first of their kind in Cheshire.
Overall 14 ACE Awards were handed out on the evening by the Chief Constable and Police & Crime Commissioner, and included awards such as: Volunteer of the Year, Police Staff of the Year, Police Officer of the Year, Community Thank You, Team of the Year, Excellence in Service, Working in Partnership and many more.
Chief Constable Simon Byrne said:
"I am really proud to lead a great Force like this. Hardly a day passes without me seeing first hand some of the hard work the officers, staff and volunteers on behalf of the public.
"These awards are designed to boost traditional ways of recognising everyone who goes the extra mile, and gives them the recognition they deserve. I want to say well done to all the nominees and congratulations to the winners.
Police & Crime Commissioner John Dwyer said:
"These Awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise all of the work everyone in the Constabulary does on a daily basis. The categories of the awards encompassed every aspect of the organisation and shows the fantastic work ethos at the Constabulary.
"Recognition and praise goes a long way in ensuring that everyone involved in the Constabulary stays motivated and continues to deliver the policing service that our communities deserve. I am proud of everyone in the Constabulary and want to say congratulations to everyone involved."
Minister for Policing, Crime, Criminal Justice and Victims Mike Penning said:
"All police officers, staff and volunteers make a vital contribution every day to cutting crime and making their communities a better place to live and work.
