Crewe man charged after police officer assaulted in the town Date published: 30th November 2018 2.38pm

A man from Crewe has been charged after a police officer was assaulted in the town.

The officer was injured after pulling over a car on Timbrell Avenue on Thursday 15 October.

The driver of the car fled on foot following the incident.

David Evanson, of Barn Croft Road, has since been arrested and charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, assault by beating, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, theft from a person, driving while disqualified and driving without due care and attention in relation to the incident.

The 34-year-old has also been charged with seven other unrelated offences.

He is due to appear at Crewe Magistrates’ Court today, Friday 30 November, in relation to the 12 charges.
