Crewe shoplifter handed Criminal Behaviour Order to curb his criminality Date published: 1st October 2018 1.55pm

A prolific shoplifter has been banned from entering shops across Cheshire after being handed down a Criminal Behaviour Order to curb his criminality.

Andrew Nield, 37, of no fixed address, had been shoplifting for a number of years and was a blight on the business community, not only in Crewe, but the rest of Cheshire.

Nield was handed the Criminal Behaviour Order at Crewe Magistrates on 26 September following his conviction on 20 August for three theft offences.

The Criminal Behaviour Order prevents Nield from entering Grand Junction Retail Park in Crewe, Sainsburys in Edleston Road, Crewe and Boots stores or McColls stores in Cheshire.

Insp Kate Buckingham, from Crewe Local Policing Unit, said “Nield was regularly stealing from shops in the town. We listened to our local business community and realised how much of an impact it was having on them and decided we needed to take alternative action to stop Nield in his tracks, so we worked to gather enough information to secure a Criminal Behaviour Order. “
