The family of a man reported missing have paid tribute to him after his body was discovered in a field near Beech Tree Lane in Lymm.
Marcus Shaw, 43, from Warrington was reported missing by his family on Saturday 14 January. Extensive enquiries were carried out by officers but sadly his body was found on Wednesday 18 January.
Marcus's family are currently being supported by specially trained officers.
His family said: “We are devastated with the loss of Marcus. He was the central part to our family and a dearly loved son, brother, father, grandfather, partner, uncle and friend to many, many people. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
"As a family we would like to pass on our gratitude to all those who assisted in the search for Marcus since his disappearance on Saturday, in particular Cheshire Police and the search and rescue team volunteers.”
Formal identification took place this afternoon (Thursday 19 January).
There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Cheshire Constabulary would like to thank the media and members of the public for their help and support in the search for Marcus.
