Five men have been arrested following the discovery of suspected illegal drugs in Widnes.
Around 6:15pm yesterday (1 February) police executed a warrant at a property on Baron Close, Widnes. Once inside officers seized a quantity of what are believed to be Class A drugs and equipment related to drug supply.
Five men were arrested on the scene.
Two Widnes men, aged 18 and 51, and a 26-year-old man from Bootle were on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Further enquiries subsequently led to the arrest of a 41-year-old man from Widnes and a 27-year-old man from Garston on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
All five men have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Sergeant Leeroy Moss said: “Drug dealing is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in Widnes. This sort of activity has a major impact on the local community and we do all we can to put a stop to it.
“Our commitment to tackling illegal drugs in our communities will continue, but we need the public’s help. If anyone has any information that can assist us in bringing these criminals to justice, I urge them to contact police on 101.”
