Four men charged with robbery after Nantwich jewellery shop raid Date published: 29th July 2016 9.41am

Police have charged four men with robbery following an investigation into a raid at a Nantwich Jewellery shop.

At 11.18am on Wednesday 27 July 2016 offenders wearing balaclavas had forced a hole in the window of a jewellery shop in Pillory Street in Nantwich and stole a number of watches before making off in a vehicle.

Working with North West Motorway Group, Central Police Motorway Group, West Midlands Motorway Group and Staffordshire Police a van travelling along the M6 was identified and followed. Four men decamped from the van in the Staffordshire area and were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Lewis Chalmers, 26, from Oswald Road in Chorlton Cum Hardy, Patrick David Massey, 25, Pegwell Drive, Salford, Darren James McAndrew, 32, Edlington Walk, Newton Heath and Joseph Anthony Schofield, 20, from Dob Brook Close in Manchester have been charged and are due to appear at South and East Cheshire Magistrates on 29 July 2016.
