Investigation continues after woman dies in Warrington Date published: 12th April 2018 11.31am

Detectives are continuing to question a 54-year-old man following the death of a woman in Warrington.

At approximately 10.20pm on Tuesday 10 April police were called to an off-licence on Marsh House Lane following concerns for a man. This led officers to an address on St Elphins Close where a woman was found with injuries.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance but sadly died a short time later. The woman has now been formally identified as Angela Craddock, aged 40. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Detective Inspector Kate Tomlinson, of Cheshire Police’s Major Investigation Team, said: “We are doing everything we can to establish the exact circumstances of what has happened. Enquiries are ongoing in the local area. These include house-to-house enquiries, CCTV enquiries and any forensic enquiries.

“An incident such as this will cause concern amongst the community. I would like to reassure local people that this is believed to be an isolated incident. Patrols have been increased in the area and local officers continue to provide reassurance to the community. They will remain in the area over the coming days and anyone with any issues or concerns is urged to speak to an officer.”
