Investigation continues following Runcorn shooting Date published: 22nd June 2018 1.37pm

Officers investigating a shooting in Runcorn are continuing to appeal for information.

The incident occurred at approximately 8.25am on Tuesday 19 June when shots were fired at a silver car on Halton Road, Runcorn.

Detective Inspector Clare Coleman said: “Enquiries in relation to this incident remain ongoing and I urge anyone with any information to contact the team here at Runcorn on 101.

“We’ve already had a number of witnesses come forward and I would like to thank them for the information that they have provided.

“So far we have arrested eight men in relation to the incident; six of those have been released under investigation while two remain in custody and are currently assisting us with our enquiries.

“I understand that this incident may have caused concern in the local community and I would like to reassure residents we are doing all that we can to trace the people responsible.”

As part of ongoing enquiries, officers are continuing to appeal for dashcam footage from motorists who were driving on Percival Lane, Brindley Street, Mersey Road, Bridge Street and Halton Road between 7.30am and 8.30am on Tuesday 19 June.
