Man charged following police officer assault in Warrington Date published: 19th August 2019 9.12am

Officers investigating the assault of a police officer in Warrington have charged a man in connection with the incident.

Lloyd Groarke was arrested at approximately 3.30pm on Saturday 17 August following an incident on Queens Gardens, Palmyra Square, Warrington.

The 27-year-old has subsequently charged with section 18 assault (grievous bodily harm with intent) and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Groarke has been remanded in police custody and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Monday 19 August.
