A 39-year-old man has been charged following a serious assault in Crewe.
Sylvester Aksamit, of no fixed address, was arrested in the Mount Pleasant area of the town shortly after 5pm on Tuesday 23 July.
He has subsequently been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The charge relates to an incident in Mount Pleasant shortly before 5pm on Tuesday 23 July.
The victim is a 56-year-old man from Crewe.
Following the incident the victim was taken to hospital via an ambulance, where he remains receiving treatment.
Aksamit appeared at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Friday 26 July.
He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Friday 23 August.
