Two men arrested following town centre altercation Date published: 21st March 2019 2.02pm

Officers have arrested two men following an altercation in Warrington town centre.

At 3.50pm on Tuesday 19 March officers were called to reports of an altercation involving two men near to the Regent Street entrance of Golden Square Shopping Centre.


Officers attended the scene and found that one of the men had sustained a wound to his shin.


 A 39-year-old man from Warrington was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article. He has since been released under investigation.


 A 35-year-old man from Warrington was also arrested on suspicion of affray; he has also been released under investigation.


 Detective Sergeant Ian McNabb said: “I’d like to reassure residents that this was an isolated incident and that two men have been arrested as part of our enquiries into the circumstances.”
