Police in Widnes have arrested two men after discovering a large quantity of Class A and Class B drugs at two addresses in the town.
Officers attended an address in Masefield Avenue as part of enquiries to locate a man wanted on suspicion of fraud offences. Two men were present at the address at the time.
Officers discovered a number of plants, believed to be cannabis, and on searching one of the two men they found a number of bags believed to be containing heroin and crack cocaine. A further search of the house uncovered drugs paraphernalia and more white powder, thought to be cocaine. They also seized cash.
Police then carried out a second warrant at an address in Frank Street and discovered another crop of plants also believed to be cannabis.
A 23-year-old man from Widnes was arrested on suspicion of fraud offences, possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply and fraud.
A 30-year-old man from Widnes was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply. Both men have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
